It Is the Youth That Must Fight

Bei der Prüfung der Rückkehrbereitschaft spielt die sich in den letzten Monaten radikal veränderte Situation sowie die politische wie wirtschaftliche Isolation Ihres Heimatlandes eine Rolle. Aktuell ist nicht mehr savon auszugehen, dass Umstände, die in den vergangenen Jahren noch als hinreichendes Indiz der Rückkehrbereitschaft gewertet werden konnten, aktuell die Rückkehrbereitschaft mit dem gleichen Gewicht indizieren. Die Botschaft geht bezogen auf Ihr Heimatland von einem insgesamt gestiegenen Migrationsdruck aus.
Zweifel an Ihrer Rückkerhbereitschaft in Ihr Heimatland ergeben sich auch daraus, dass Sie als russischer Staatsangehöriger im wehrpflichtigen Alter zu dem Personenkreis gehören, der in Russland potentiell von der Teilmobilisierung für die russischen Streitkräfte betroffen ist. Dadurch dürfte Ihre Bereitschaft, vor Ablauf des Visums in Ihr Heimatland zurückzukehren erheiblich vermindert sein.

The situation, which has changed radically in recent months, as well as the political and economic isolation of your home country play a role in examining your willingness to return. At present, it can no longer be safely assumed that circumstances which in previous years could have been taken as a sufficient indication of the willingness to return currently indicate the willingness to return with the same weight. With regard to your home country, the embassy assumes that there will be an overall increase in migration pressure.
Doubts about your willingness to return to your home country also arise from the fact that, as a Russian citizen of military age, you belong to the group of people potentially affected by the partial mobilization for the Russian armed forces in Russia. This should significantly reduce your willingness to return to your home country before your visa expires.

The unsettling part is, all three of us got personal letters from the embassy. In my case, this text didn’t raise eyebrows too much. My wife getting the same answer makes some sense, too: she, too, is a doctor, hence may also be subject to mobilization. But our daughter got the same answer, too. With the very same wording.
She hasn’t turned two yet.
I guess, the German embassy knows something about the Russian military that we laypeople are not aware of yet.
