Fist-of-doom It's called "Memory Bias" the brain doesn't like to admit it doesn't understand something, so it lies. It rewrites memories to make it seem like it was always that way, it destroys your perception of reality to makes sense out of the impossible, and other times it will just erase the memory. It happens when you try to remember something you have forgotten as well, you will end up remembering it differently than what really happened or just "remember" something that never happened. Rather than simply admit it doesn't know it creates a fabrication of reality for you.
